The Clifford Straighteners are designed for wire types SAE 1006 – SAE 1015 and can straighten, cut and profile off-coil wire up to 360m (1 181ft) per minute with up to a 40% reduction. All machines come with a 1‑year guarantee with spares available worldwide.
Like all Clifford machines, the Straightening line is modular in design and can be run with a single operator. Clifford can supply various straightening, collection and alignment options to suit your requirements and budget.

HOW IT WORKS
Rod is fed from the payoff system into the Descaler, where the wire passes through sharp angle bends around pulleys in two planes to remove the scale. The wire then enters the lubricant applicator which applies an even film of lubricant on to the wire. The lubricated wire is then fed into the profiling section, where a roller cassette reduces the wire diameter, increasing the tensile strength. The wire is then fed through a set of profiling rollers, rolling the reinforcing profile onto the wire. Once profiled, the rod is then sent through the spinner or rollers to straighten. The profiled and straightened wire is then cut to length by the flying shear and is discharged into the runout and subsequent receiving trays.
